The woman was hit by a car in Halle-Neustadt and succumbed to her serious injuries at the scene of the accident, the police said.
The accident site was completely closed to vehicle traffic.
The police warned of significant obstructions in the accident area.
There was initially no information on the exact course of the accident.
The police also gave no information about the woman's age.
