Rostock (dpa / mv) - 497 new corona infections were reported in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania on Tuesday.

That was seven less than on Tuesday a week ago, as the State Office for Health and Social Affairs (Lagus) announced (as of 4:35 p.m.).

Twelve more people died of coronavirus infection, bringing the country's death toll to 945.

The incidence fell by 4 compared to the previous day to 138 new corona infections per 100,000 inhabitants within a week.

A week ago, this value was reportedly 151.8 nationwide.

At 189.1, the seven-day incidence is currently highest in the Mecklenburg Lake District, followed by the Vorpommern-Greifswald district with 172.3.

According to Lagus, the value is lowest in the Hanseatic city of Rostock at 89.9.

The total number of corona infections detected so far in the northeast is 36,946. Around 31,500 people are considered to have recovered.

The number of corona patients treated in clinics is currently 287 - 17 more than the day before.

76 corona patients were in intensive care units, 4 more than on Monday.

According to Lagus, 422 421 corona vaccinations have so far been administered in the northeast.

321 544 people received a first vaccination dose, 100 877 also the necessary second dose.
