Fürth (dpa / lni) - Eintracht Braunschweig suffered a setback in the relegation battle of the 2nd Bundesliga.

Lower Saxony lost 3-0 (0-3) to promotion aspirants SpVgg Greuther Fürth on Tuesday and remained in 15th place with 30 points. VfL Osnabrück in relegation rank 16, however, can reduce the gap to one point four games before the end of the season on Wednesday.

The Fürth people appeared with the determination of a future climber.

With a remarkable side pull, Sebastian Ernst put the hosts in the lead in the ninth minute.

The Braunschweiger were at times overwhelmed with the fast combinations of the Fürth.

Captain Branimir Hrgota (19./Foul penalty) and the former Eintracht striker Havard Nielsen (33.) made everything clear for the Fürth before the break.

Already on Friday (6.30 p.m. / Sky) the North Germans will continue against Erzgebirge Aue.
