Stuttgart (dpa / lsw) - Around a year after the attack on three men on the sidelines of a corona demonstration in Stuttgart, two alleged participants in the attack are on trial.

From today (9 a.m.) you have to answer for punches and kicks against three men in May last year on the sidelines of a protest rally on the Cannstatter Wasen.

A then 20-year-old is accused of attempted manslaughter.

He is said to have hit one of the three men violently in the head and seriously injured him.

An alleged accomplice at the time of the crime, who was 24 years old, is sitting in the dock of the regional court for dangerous bodily harm.

Both men are assigned to the left scene.

A total of around 20 to 40 people are said to have attacked and injured what they saw as right-wing opponents with striking tools.

The 54-year-old was critically injured at the time and belonged to the right-wing populist union-like organization “Zentrum Automobil”.

His two comrades-in-arms also suffered injuries.

They were on their way to the rally on the Wasen.

Several thousand people took part in the demonstration against the corona restrictions.
