In Minnesota, in the Midwestern United States, a week-long protest against a black man being shot dead by a police officer was recently held by a police officer on his knees. Tensions are rising locally as the verdict is expected to be decided in the trial of the deceased case.

A black man, Killing of Daunte, was shot dead by a white female police officer at the Brooklyn Center in Minnesota on the 11th of this month while being heard about a traffic violation.

Many residents gather around the police station every day to protest, saying that it is an excessive response due to racial discrimination, and some vandalism has also occurred.

Hundreds of people, including a veteran black federal congressman, attended a rally from midnight on the 17th to the 18th, despite a curfew, and protests have been going on for a week now.

Also, in Minneapolis, a dozen kilometers away from the scene of the incident, a former police officer charged with murder occurred in May last year when a black man George Floyd died after being held down by a police officer. Derek Chauvin's trial continues.

The National Guard has been mobilized around Minneapolis in case of an unforeseen situation, as Chauvin is expected to be found guilty or not guilty in the near future, but somebody became a National Guard before dawn on the 18th. Tensions are rising locally, with people being injured in the shooting incident.
