Neubrandenburg (dpa / mv) - A 48-year-old man from Neubrandenburg lost 25,000 euros in an investment fraud via the Internet.

As a police spokesman said on Sunday, the injured party reported the case on Sunday.

According to his own statements, the man opened an Internet trading account with alleged brokers in January in order to be able to invest in Bitcoins.

He transferred a total of around 25,000 euros and was repeatedly informed of profits and worthwhile investments over the phone.

When the Neubrandenburger wanted to withdraw money, the numbers in his broker overview quickly turned into a total loss.

The criminal police are investigating suspected fraud and are warning against such sham deals.
