From mid-May, the terraces of bars and restaurants and museums should again be accessible, in accordance with Emmanuel Macron's wishes.

"We lack concrete things to be able to really plan on the reopening of our business", regrets the restaurateur Geoffrey Clavel, Sunday on Europe 1.

INTERVIEW

During a meeting with some mayors organized this week, the President of the Republic, Emmanuel Macron, reaffirmed his desire to reopen the country from mid-May after weeks of additional measures to fight the Covid epidemic -19.

Initially, this reopening should concern the terraces of bars and restaurants, as well as museums.

But the Head of State remains cautious and always conditions this reopening to the evolution of the health situation.

"We need more details, much more concrete methods"

"We are lacking a little concrete things to be able to really plan on the reopening of our business", regrets Geoffrey Clavel, president of the coffee-bars-breweries branch of the UMIH (Union of trades and hospitality industries ) Rhône and restaurateur in Lyon, Sunday on Europe 1. A speech shared by Carine Rolland, the cultural assistant to the socialist mayor of Paris, Anne Hidalgo, regarding museums.

"We need to clarify, much more concrete modalities to be able to prepare," she said on Sunday on Europe 1.

According to Carine Rolland, there is an urgent need to propose a "phasing" about cultural places to determine "which establishments" will be concerned, "in what order and with what modalities".

"There are still too many conditionalities, everything is still subject to the evolution of the health crisis," says Geoffrey Clavel.

For him, Emmanuel Macron's announcements "are still a little bit of brainstorming".

"What about" the 60% of establishments without a terrace?

As for restaurateurs and bars, this lack of visibility is very concrete.

Only 40% of them have a terrace, a space that should however be essential for a rapid partial reopening.

"So what about the other 60%?"

asks Geoffrey Clavel who also wonders if there will also be "a reception gauge on the terrace".

The possible announcement of continued aid despite the partial reopening is also eagerly awaited by professionals.

And for Geoffrey Clavel, these questions are only at the beginning "in a projection of a complete reopening".

"This is the one we want to look for."
