Saudi Arabia considered obtaining the Corona vaccine a basic condition for performing Umrah, while Jordan allowed its citizens to perform Friday prayers in mosques in accordance with the precautionary measures to confront the virus.

Today, Sunday, Saudi TV stated, quoting a government official, that immunization from Corona has become a condition for obtaining a permit to perform Umrah.

The official spokesman for the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah, Hisham Saeed, confirmed that the basic condition for issuing Umrah and prayer permits is immunization against the coronavirus, explaining that this means either vaccination against infection with two doses of the vaccine, or a first dose, or immunization resulting from recovery from the epidemic.

The spokesman also pointed out that the services of pilgrims, shops and economic establishments in Makkah and Madinah are required to prove that all workers in them have been immunized against the virus.

And recently, Saudi Arabia launched the application "Tawakalna" and "Umrah" via mobile phones, on condition that the one who wants to perform Umrah or pray in the Two Holy Mosques confirm that he has received the Corona vaccine through them, to obtain a permit.

As of Sunday morning, the total number of Corona injuries in Saudi Arabia reached 404,970, of which 6 thousand and 823 deaths, and 388 thousand and 702 recovered cases.

Around the world, as of Sunday afternoon, Corona's injuries reached 141 million and 535 thousand, of which 3 million and 26 thousand deaths, and 129 million and 144 thousand recovered cases, according to the Worldmeter website.

Return Friday prayers in Jordan

In Jordan, the government reinstated the decision to exclude Friday prayers from the comprehensive weekly ban, which has been in place in the country since March 10.

A statement issued by the Council of Ministers said, "It has been decided to allow citizens to go out to perform Friday prayers on foot, for a period of one hour to be determined by the Ministry of Endowments, provided that the worshipers adhere to the approved health protocol."

On March 10, the Jordanian government decided to impose a comprehensive and total curfew on Fridays with the suspension of Friday prayers, and to expand the partial curfew in the evening for the rest of the days, and on the 28th of the same month, it decided to continue these decisions until mid-May.

As of Sunday morning, the total number of Corona injuries in Jordan reached 685,973, including 8 thousand and 246 deaths, and 638 thousand and 481 recoveries.

Gaza: the highest daily death toll

In a related context, the Ministry of Health in the Gaza Strip announced, on Sunday, that 23 deaths from the Coronavirus have been recorded, in the highest daily toll since the first local infections were discovered last August.

The ministry said in a statement, "23 deaths were recorded from the Coronavirus during the past 24 hours, which brings the number of deaths to 761 since the beginning of the pandemic."

The director of home quarantine centers at the Ministry of Health, Mutassim Salah, confirmed that this number represents the largest number of deaths recorded in the Gaza Strip.

The Gaza Strip recently witnessed a steady increase in the number of daily infections with the virus, after months in which daily infections did not exceed the barrier of 200.

According to the ministry's statement, the injuries increased during the past 24 hours by almost 5% from the daily rates, which were recorded during the past two weeks.

The sector has counted about 90,000 confirmed injuries, while 305 critically ill patients remain in the intensive care departments in Gaza's hospitals, which suffer from a great disability.

The authorities in the Gaza Strip, which is run by the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas), announced on Tuesday, at the start of the month of Ramadan, a new package of preventive measures.

These measures prohibit the movement of vehicles between seven in the evening until the next morning, with the continuation of the comprehensive closure on Friday and Saturday, in addition to preventing the holding of weddings and the opening of funeral homes and popular markets.

The Gaza Strip, where nearly two million people have been living under an Israeli blockade for nearly 14 years, have reached more than 80,000 doses of anti-Coronavirus vaccines from multiple sources, and more than 33,000 people have been immunized to date.

The lowest death toll in Britain

On the other hand, official data showed that 10 deaths were recorded in Corona in Britain during the past 24 hours, which is the lowest number of daily deaths since September 9.

The numbers of recorded deaths usually tend to decrease during the weekends.

Also, 1,882 new cases of corona were recorded, compared to 2,206 yesterday.

According to the data, 32 million and 849 thousand people received the first dose of the vaccine, up from 32 million and 693 thousand yesterday, Saturday.

Israel gives up masks

And in Israel, the implementation of the Ministry of Health’s decision to cancel the mandatory wearing of protective masks in open places began on Sunday, after more than half of the population received the vaccine in one of the fastest vaccination campaigns in the world.

Israel completely vaccinated about 5 million people, which was reflected in the number of injuries, which witnessed a significant decrease, with about 200 daily injuries recorded, compared to more than 10 thousand in mid-January.

This decrease prompted the authorities to reopen schools, bars and restaurants and allow indoor events, which were not covered by Thursday's decision.

Israel, which recorded only a few months ago the highest infection rates in the world, has counted 836,000 infections and 63,000 deaths since the virus began in March last year.
