A massive fire engulfs parts of Table Mountain.

A wildfire engulfed large parts of the slopes of the famous Table Mountain (Table Mountain), which overlooks Cape Town, South Africa.

The fire caught fire on the cliffs above the Newlands neighborhood on Monday after the fire broke out in the morning, rescue services said.

The fire destroyed parts of a restaurant and spread to the neighboring university, Cape Town's city administration wrote on Twitter.

The city administration added that the students living on the campus have been evacuated.

The authorities called on residents and other visitors to evacuate the area immediately.

Table Mountain is a Cape Town landmark and is a conservation area.

Fires often break out during dry periods.

The authorities deployed helicopters to pump water from the top to help the ground crews.

Rescue services said one firefighter was injured, but no deaths were reported.

The agencies said that the fire was caused by a fire that broke out in a camp that was started by a homeless person.
