[Kang Min-seok/ Cheong Wa Dae Spokesman: (President Moon) conducted an immediate inspection and instructed Chief Min Jeong to take prompt and decisive measures.] The

subject of the inspection included Cheon Hyo-gwan, Cheong Wa Dae's cultural secretary.

The former secretary served as the Seoul Innovation Planning Office from 2014 to 2018, and a social enterprise that he founded and handed over won orders for 12 projects in Seoul, including the Urban Regeneration Expo, worth 5.1 billion won.

Lee Tae-gyu, a member of the National Assembly Party, raised suspicion of preferential treatment and conflict of interest, saying that the evaluation committee members were acquainted with the former secretary at the time of selection of some projects, and that the company had received orders for projects in his/her department in 2015.

Regarding this, the former secretary refuted, "After handing over the company to another person in 2006, he has not been involved in the operation of the company at all. In Seoul, it is impossible to engage in a business that he or she is not in charge of."

An official at the Blue House said that the president's idea is that the morality issues of public officials should be dealt with more strictly against the background of the order for the prosecution.
