Hamburg (dpa) - St. Pauli President Oke Göttlich has shown himself to be open to quarantine training camps in view of the tense corona situation.

"A quarantine training camp is not fun, but it may be a necessary risk minimization in order to achieve the main goal, namely the end of the season," said the head of the Hamburg second division soccer team on Wednesday in an online media round.

The community of 36 professional clubs and their employees depend on it.

It's about more than individual fates.

"At the end of the day, it is about ending a season collectively using the best and fairest possibilities that are possible in this phase," he emphasized.

The 36 professional clubs have the privilege of «being able to pursue their profession because we have developed an excellent hygiene concept».

In the 2nd league, Holstein Kiel (until April 20), Karlsruher SC (until April 20) and SV Sandhausen (until April 18) are currently in quarantine after several positive corona findings.

Numerous games still have to be made up.

In the meantime, doubts have been raised as to whether the season can be ended as planned by May 23.

Göttlich pleaded for doing everything possible to be able to play the season to the end, even if individual clubs could have disadvantages due to their quarantine: "Every decision at the green table is worse than a decision on the green field."
