Erfurt (dpa / th) - In a traffic accident in Erfurt, a car driver and his mother were seriously injured on Wednesday.
For an as yet unexplained cause, the 69-year-old lost control of his car, got off the street, drove through a front yard and collided with the facade of a snack bar, the police said.
The driver and his 88-year-old mother were trapped.
The fire brigade freed the two of them from the car and the injured were taken to a hospital.
The cause of the accident initially remained open.
The car was totaled.
The damage to the snack bar facade could not yet be quantified.
