Augsburg (AP) - After a fatal argument at a bus stop in Augsburg, the public prosecutor's office charged a 20-year-old woman with murder.

According to the investigators, the woman had stabbed a 28-year-old in the chest with a jackknife in such a way that the man died within a few minutes.

Because of the woman's age, the youth chamber of the Augsburg regional court is examining the indictment.

There is no date for the trial yet.

If the woman is convicted, the chamber must then examine whether adult or juvenile criminal law is applicable to the adolescent.

According to the indictment, there was an argument between two groups at the bus stop in the evening on November 27, 2020.

The young woman was therefore traveling with a man who is said to have struggled with the later victim.

That's why the then 19-year-old woman is said to have taken her knife out of her handbag and stabbed the opponent after she had asked the 28-year-old to leave her boyfriend alone.

The bloody act on the street had caused a stir in Augsburg at the time.

Some also drew parallels to the act of violence on Augsburg's Königsplatz in Advent 2019. At that time, a youngster hit a man so hard that the victim died of a cerebral haemorrhage.
