"By a court verdict, Vorobyov was found guilty of committing a crime ... he was sentenced to imprisonment for a period of 12 years and 6 months with serving a sentence in a penal colony with a strict regime," the press service of the Moscow City Court quotes Interfax.
The trial against Vorobyov took place behind closed doors.
Earlier it was reported that Vorobyov was accused of providing another state with information constituting a state secret, which became known to him during his service.
