Ludwigshafen (dpa / lrs) - According to the chemical company, the vaccination center on the BASF site in Ludwigshafen is ready for use.
The corona vaccination of the workforce should already start on (today) Wednesday, as the company announced.
The Rhineland-Palatinate state government has guaranteed weekly deliveries of vaccine.
The vaccination sequence is just as adhered to as the selection of the vaccine, said board member Michael Heinz.
"The rules for the project are set by the federal and state governments."
First of all, employees of BASF and BASF subsidiaries in Ludwigshafen who belong to vaccination group 2 are vaccinated, for example because of serious previous illnesses.
"I am proud that we can now help to increase the vaccination speed, relieve the health system and thus make a further contribution to fighting pandemics," said Heinz, who is also the site manager in Ludwigshafen.
According to the company, a multifunctional hall has been converted for the vaccination center.
Vaccination booths were set up, walkways marked, waiting and rest rooms defined - everything according to specifications from Mainz.
The first vaccination doses arrived on Monday.

"We are pleased that BASF is part of the model project company doctor vaccinations in Rhineland-Palatinate and is the first company to start company corona vaccinations," said Health Minister Sabine Bätzing-Lichtenthäler (SPD) according to a statement.
The aim is to vaccinate as much as possible as quickly as possible.
"In addition, the involvement of the company doctors is a further step and a good addition to the vaccination structure."
