Erfurt (dpa) - In Thuringia, many people are still infected with the corona virus.
The state government has registered 876 new infections since Tuesday, the Thuringian Ministry of Health announced on Wednesday.
The value of infections per week and 100,000 inhabitants in the morning was 253.9.
This means that the so-called seven-day incidence was again the highest in Thuringia by a clear margin compared to other federal states.
The day before, the incidence in Free State was 234.5.
According to the Robert Koch Institute (RKI), the second highest value was on Wednesday with 227.8 in Saxony, nationwide it was 153.2.
In some districts, the situation with regard to the characteristic value remained particularly tense: including the district of Greiz (477), the Wartburg district (385.8) and the district of Schmalkalden-Meiningen (349).
In the district of Schmalkalden-Meiningen, a new vaccination center started work in the Meiningen Multihalle on Wednesday.
The Bio-Seehotel in Zeulenroda-Triebes (Greiz district) is now also vaccinated.
The sites are to be used primarily to administer the funds from the special vaccine contingent that Thuringia has received for some districts that are particularly hard hit by the pandemic.
Vaccination appointments for these special contingents have already been taken, according to the KVT.
