Halle (dpa / sa) - With the symbolic groundbreaking ceremony on Wednesday (11.00 a.m.), construction work for a new hospice in Halle will begin.

The building in the south of the city is expected to be ready in 2022, a spokeswoman said.

In the hospice, seriously ill people are accompanied at the end of their lives.

To this end, the conditions in the new building should also improve for relatives.

In addition, there are rooms for the training and further education of volunteers and in nursing professions.

So far, according to the information, up to ten people live in the inpatient hospice at St. Elisabeth Hospital in Halle.
