Halle (dpa / sa) - In the process of a fatal knife attack in Halle, the public prosecutor has demanded six years' imprisonment for the accused.

He attacked two men in front of an apartment door in an apartment building and did not act in self-defense, said public prosecutor Klaus Wiechmann on Wednesday in front of the Halle district court.

He pleaded for the defendant to be convicted of bodily harm resulting in death and dangerous bodily harm.

The 21-year-old's defense called for acquittal.

The defendant had confessed to stabbing two men with a kitchen knife in September 2020.

As a motive, he gave self-defense.

A 31-year-old died from a stab in the heart and his friend of the same age was injured.

The district court wants to give the verdict in the morning.
