China News Agency, Moscow, April 13th. According to the website of the Russian Ministry of Defense, Russian Defense Minister Shoigu emphasized at a meeting in Severmorsk, Russia on the 13th that the United States and NATO are sending troops to Russia’s European border.

In response, Russia has deployed multiple troops to the western region in the past three weeks.

Shoigu said that the United States and NATO intend to deploy 40,000 people and 15,000 weapons and equipment along the Russian border, with their forces mainly concentrated in the Black Sea and Baltic Sea regions.

According to Russian intelligence, compared with 2020, the intensity of US aerial reconnaissance activities near the Russian border has doubled, and maritime reconnaissance activities have increased by 50%.

In addition, NATO holds about 40 military training activities with obvious anti-Russian tendencies every year.

Shoigu stated that Russia has taken corresponding measures against NATO military activities.

In the past three weeks, Russia has successfully deployed two armies and three formations of airborne troops to the western border.

Currently, these armies are undergoing coordinated training.

In addition, assault readiness inspections were conducted on the western and southern military regions of Russia.

Shoigu said that Russia is enhancing the combat capabilities of the Northern Fleet to strengthen the country's defense capabilities in the Arctic.

On the 13th, in response to the US sending two warships to the Black Sea to support Ukraine, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Ryabkov said that the US warships going to the Black Sea was a provocation and a test of Russia’s patience.

On the same day, Russia’s Southern Military Region announced that under the framework of winter training and inspection, 15 warships of the Russian fleet will go to the Black Sea.

In April 2014, a large-scale conflict broke out between Uzbek government forces and civilian armed forces in eastern Ukraine.

With the mediation of the international community, the two parties to the conflict reached a ceasefire agreement in Minsk in September 2014 and February 2015 respectively. Since then, large-scale armed conflicts have been brought under control, but small-scale exchanges of fire have occurred from time to time.

The situation in eastern Ukraine has recently become tense again. Uzbek government forces and civilian armed forces accused each other of opening fire and provocation.

At the same time, Ukraine said that Russia’s assembly of troops in the border area between Ukraine and Russia poses a serious threat to Ukraine’s national security.

The Russian side responded that the Russian army on the Russian-Ukrainian border is located in Russia and poses no threat to anyone.
