Prior to the lease negotiations last autumn, the tenants' association wanted the housing companies in the country to freeze their rents.

The reason was that they believed that many of their members had been hit hard financially by the corona pandemic.

But most landlords have raised rents this year, even though rent increases are generally lower than last year.

On average, rents in the country were raised by 1.23 percent, reports Home and Rent.

Lowest rent increase at Vätterhem

In our county, Tranåsbostäder is the municipal housing company that has raised the rent the most.

There, the increase is 2.20 percent this year.

The private companies in the Tranås, Amasten and Kustaden projects were also high with a 1.90 and 1.60 percent increase, respectively.

The municipal housing company Järnbäraren in Gnosjö had the second highest increase in the county by 1.55 percent.

Vätterhem in Jönköping had the lowest rent increase among the municipal housing companies in the county with 1.15 percent,
