April 13, 2021 The first 184 thousand doses of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine arrived in Italy, stored at the national defense hub of Pratica di Mare.

This is the first batch of the US vaccine to arrive in Italy.

In addition, about 175,000 doses of Vaxzevria (AstraZeneca) vaccine were delivered late yesterday evening.

The two arrivals, underlines the office of the extraordinary Commissioner, "are part of the 4.2 million doses that will reach Italy in the period 15-22 April, which - together with those available to the Regions - will contribute significantly to achieving campaign target at national level ".

The arrival and storage of vaccines at the national hub of Pratica di Mare is managed by the Joint Chief Operating Officer as part of the Eos operation.

The J&J vaccine is the fourth approved by the national health authorities, after Pfizer, Moderna and Vaxzevria.
