Dresden (dpa / sn) - With an action under the motto "No more fun!"

more than 100 employees in the Saxon metal and electrical industry drew attention to their situation in the collective bargaining dispute on Tuesday in Dresden.

IG Metall announced that the participants drove their cars in front of a stage set up at the fair.

Due to the Corona regulations, only small delegations from a total of twelve companies - including Pierburg, Thyssenkrupp and the bodyworks Dresden - were on site.

According to the union, the background is not only the current collective bargaining round, but also the announcements by many companies that they will be cutting jobs due to the corona crisis.

"There are many collective bargaining regulations to avoid hasty job cuts," said a statement from IG Metall.

The Association of the Saxon Metal and Electrical Industry (VSME) criticized the action in advance.

The collective bargaining parties have already agreed on a pilot deal in North Rhine-Westphalia.

This is associated with both financial benefits and new options for securing jobs.

"The VSME is ready to agree all of this for Saxony as well," said a statement from the association.

In the wage conflict, IG Metall is demanding, among other things, four percent more money for twelve months, which is optionally to be used to secure employment.
