Rostock (dpa / mv) - The Hanse Sail, the largest festival in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, is to take place again this August after the corona-related break last year.

But because of the pandemic, it will look different than in previous years, said Rostock's head of tourism Matthias Fromm on Tuesday.

"We are currently in the process of planning the event so that it is corona-compliant."

The large event area in the city harbor will no longer exist.

"We rely on experience spaces in which the flow of visitors can be better directed."

The 30th Hanse Sail is scheduled to begin on August 5th and end on August 8th.

There are currently 87 ship registrations and there are good discussions with the tall ships “Mir” and “Sedov”.

The number of registrations is comparable to that of previous years, stressed Fromm.
