The Director of Dibba Al Fujairah Municipality, Engineer Hassan Al Yamahi, stated that men's barbershops have been obligated to 18 health conditions, in addition to the health behaviors that must be followed to prevent the emerging corona virus (Covid-19), in order to avoid closure or violation.

He pointed out that 22 men's salons and women's beauty centers have been closed, due to their non-compliance with preventive precautionary measures to limit the spread of the new Corona virus, including physical spacing and wearing a muzzle, and negligence in applying health controls and requirements such as the cleanliness of equipment and place and the presence of insects in the shops, in addition to the absence of a health card. For workers, as a result of 285 inspection visits to men's salons and women's beauty centers, during the months of January and February.

Al Yamahi pointed out that the municipality has intensified its awareness-raising efforts and inspected barbershops and urged their owners to adhere to the health rules in providing service, pointing out that the pandemic has produced community awareness among individuals who visit these stores, and the customer has preferred to use his own tools, with a high level of precautionary measures.

He added that the precautionary measures imposed by the municipality on these stores included the proportionality of the facility’s area with the services provided and not less than 30 square meters, and that it be equipped with tables containing cupboards and drawers for storing tools, mirrors and a sufficient number of hand and head washing basins, shaving tools and equipment used, and that it is equipped with a source. For hot water with detergents and disinfectants provided to clean and disinfect shaving tools and equipment after each use.
