The course of the baccalaureate this year remains unclear, especially around the grand oral, the flagship symbol of the reform.

Visiting Toulouse on Monday, the Minister of National Education, Jean-Michel Blanquer, assured that the event would be maintained.

However, more and more voices are rising to demand its removal.

But all unions are asking for its removal, especially because it could not be well prepared due to the health context.

A lower coefficient?

One of the solutions considered: a slightly lower coefficient;

5% instead of 10%;

so that the grade does not count too much in the final grade.

But other options are also on the table, such as the layout of the event itself.

The student could no longer be questioned in the second part on the whole program as initially planned.

In theory, the exercise is supposed to last a total of 20 minutes, with a short presentation on the specialties, an exchange and finally questions on the professional project.

"Discussions" but always "an important test"

"There are discussions within the framework of the monitoring committee of the bac", confirms the rue de Grenelle, "but it remains an important test", we are told.

The government has theoretically until June 1 to decide, 15 days before the start of the tests.

It also remains to be decided for the French bac and the philosophy test.
