The Top 14 match between Montpellier and Toulon, scheduled for Saturday, was postponed "to a later date" due to several positive cases of Covid-19 within the Toulon workforce, the National Rugby League announced on Monday.

The meeting, counting for the 21st day, was initially scheduled for Saturday at 5.45 p.m.

"As part of its regular monitoring, the entire workforce of Rugby Club Toulonnais underwent RT-PCR tests on Monday, April 12, 2021 in the morning. During the results received this Monday afternoon, it is appeared that several players and members of the staff were contaminated with COVID-19 ", specified the club of the Rada in a press release.

Ten days ago, the RCT had already had a lost match on the green carpet in the European Cup, in the round of 16 against Leinster, after a positive case revealed within the first line of the Var.

The EPCR had qualified the Irish for the next round and the controversy had swelled, the Toulonnais regretting "the laxity of the procedures" and the lack of "dialogue".

The president of the club Bernard Lemaître even threatened not to register Toulon in the European Cup.

Tests carried out the following week all came back negative.
