Leipzig (dpa) - Ralf Rangnick has accepted a consulting contract from the Russian first division soccer club Lokomotiv Moscow.

As a spokesman for the German Press Agency confirmed on Monday, this is the creation of a sporty and structural concept.

In this context, Rangnick was at the derby between Lok and Spartak Moscow on Sunday, which Russian media had reported.

The 62-year-old, who is still considered a successor to national coach Joachim Loew, is not interested in a position at the Russian club.

Media from the country of the three-time Russian champions had speculated that Rangnick should take over the job of sports director and was already spreading salary claims.

According to dpa information, this does not apply.

Lok Moscow is currently third in the Russian championship, but is eight points behind leaders Zenit St. Petersburg and has only a slim chance of winning the title.
