Stuttgart (dpa / lsw) - Because of the increasing number of corona infections, school for many children and adolescents in Baden-Württemberg is initially only starting distance learning again after the Easter holidays.

It was planned differently, but the country has withdrawn steps in opening schools.

In the first week, with a few exceptions, there will be no face-to-face teaching, only lessons in the analog or digital way.

For pupils up to and including grade 7, emergency care is to be offered for children whose parents urgently need it.

The background is the concern that the corona mutant is spreading more and more through children and adolescents.

Special education and advice centers remain open.

Some of the final classes should also be taught face-to-face.

When school starts after the holidays, the country's test strategy also changes.

In the first week, students do not have to be tested, it remains on a voluntary basis.

In the week from April 19, teachers, schoolchildren and caretakers without a negative Corona test are no longer allowed to take part in lessons or enter the premises - the state government writes this to the urban and rural districts with more than 100 new corona infections per 100,000 inhabitants on three consecutive days and describes it as an "indirect test obligation".
