Magdeburg (dpa / sa) - The Greens want to campaign for stricter corona rules in the black-red-green state government.

In addition, the party expects Saxony-Anhalt to support the planned tightening of the Federal Infection Protection Act in the Federal Council, said Green top candidate Cornelia Lüddemann on Monday.

"We have to reduce the incidence quickly and permanently," said Lüddemann.

"Only that will prevent many more deaths and the chronically ill with long-term consequences."

The economy must also be more involved in the fight against pandemics, said the parliamentary group leader of the Greens in the state parliament.

Lüddemann demanded that companies offer free tests twice a week and be obliged to enable work from home where possible.

The openings started last week as part of model projects should also be limited to municipalities in which the seven-day incidence is below 100.

Lüddemann had previously called for stricter rules in the “Mitteldeutsche Zeitung” and criticized the model projects.

The CDU parliamentary group in the state parliament accused the green coalition partner on Monday of going into the election campaign with a “double standard”.

The Greens are included in the Corona policy as part of the government, said parliamentary group leader Siegfried Borgwardt.

Four weeks ago, Lüddemann himself called for openings to be made possible, accompanied by tests and technical means for tracking contacts.

"If the Greens believe that they can now shirk their responsibility and be the opposition and government at the same time, then the voters will notice."
