Lüdenscheid (dpa / lnw) - A drunk man spat on and hit a paramedic in Lüdenscheid.
Passers-by called an ambulance on Friday evening to the 60-year-old in need of treatment, the police said on Monday.
But instead of getting help, he spat in the face of one of the paramedics and slightly injured him with blows.
The ambulance crew finally overwhelmed the man and called the police, who escorted him to the hospital in handcuffs.
During the operation, a companion of the 60-year-old interfered again and again, also behaved extremely aggressively and insulted the officers, it said.
He spent the night in police custody.
Both men received charges of insult and assault.
