Police checks at underground parties go wrong in Antwerp, Belgium.

While trying to flee from the police, a 21-year-old man died.

The party took place on the top floor of a hotel on Saturday night.

Management explains that they tried to stop the festivities before calling the police.

When the officers arrive, the eight people present try to hide and a 21-year-old falls out of the window.

He died on the spot.

An investigation has been opened.

The participants of the clandestine party will be auditioned in the coming days.

Only one person outside the home allowed inside

That same evening, another police intervention at a festive rally led to an incident.

Again, one of the 16 offenders tried to escape through the window, but injured her shoulder while jumping into the yard.

In Belgium, groups of more than 4 people are prohibited outside due to

measures related

to the coronavirus.

Inside, you can only see one person outside their home.

The mayor of Antwerp indicates that he wants a social debate on the subject: "

 The death of a person so young painfully confronts us with the consequences on mental well-being of long periods of confinement, 

" he said.
