Last week, New York recorded the highest number of new cases of Covid-19 in the United States with nearly 8,000 positive people per day.

All this as the state continues to lift health restrictions as vaccination continues.

An upward trend also recorded in neighboring New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Michigan and Florida.

With New York, these states alone today concentrate 50% of new Covid-19 in the United States.

Worrisome increase in Michigan

Experts are particularly concerned about the situation in Michigan where the numbers have doubled in the past two weeks.

Local authorities explain that this increase is partly due to the fact that they test a lot more than other states.

But the governor still admitted that people were probably tired of complying with sanitary measures.

The different variants are also gaining ground in the United States.

The five states recording the increase recently asked Washington for additional vaccines.

But for now, the White House does not seem to want to change its dose allocation strategy.

In recent weeks, President Joe Biden and his teams have called on Americans not to let their guard down, even as the number of vaccinated continues to rise.
