Weiterstadt / Darmstadt (dpa / lhe) - After the fire in a house in Weiterstadt in southern Hesse, the 83-year-old resident's body is to be autopsied.
The investigation should clarify how the man died, the police and the public prosecutor announced on Monday in Darmstadt.
The fire in the annex broke out on Sunday and the body was discovered during the extinguishing work.
The investigators currently have no evidence of a technical defect as the cause of the fire.
The police estimate the damage at tens of thousands of euros.
