Oldenburg (dpa / lni) - For the time being, there will be no collective agreement for the approximately 300 employees of the new wind power company Alterric.

The talks with the Verdi union were ended without a result, EWE announced on Monday as the chief negotiator of the Alterric Group.

Alterric is a joint venture between the energy supplier EWE and the Aloys Wobben Foundation as the owner of the wind turbine manufacturer Enercon.

Verdi sharply criticized the break in negotiations.

"Here a long-standing, trusting cooperation between the social partners in EWE is being trampled underfoot," said the district manager of Lower Saxony-Bremen, Detlef Ahting.

Accordingly, around 60 of the current 200 employees have an EWE collective agreement.

Since the employer did not want to extend this to the entire workforce for cost reasons, the union and EWE tried to agree on a new contract, which failed.

Alterric wants to become a leading producer of climate-friendly wind energy, the number of employees is to grow to 300.

According to EWE, the negotiating partners had the goal of concluding a collective agreement by the end of March.

Despite agreement on key points, this could not be achieved in 15 negotiation rounds.

The termination of the negotiations now enables “the fair and permanently competitive remuneration of all Alterric employees to be ensured on time,” said EWE spokesman Christian Bartsch.

A remuneration package in line with the market will be implemented retrospectively to April 1st, many of which correspond to the offer to Verdi.
