The President of the General Authority for Islamic Affairs of Endowments, Dr. Muhammad Matar Salem Al-Kaabi, during a media briefing organized by the Authority this afternoon, via the visual virtual circuit, confirmed the Authority’s readiness for the blessed month of Ramadan, reviewing its activities and programs in this blessed month, beginning with the scholars program, the guests of His Highness the President of the State - may God protect him. He revealed that a number of scholars will participate this year in the program in presenting qualitative lectures and specialized seminars to be held by the authority through virtual platforms, as well as the forum "The Emirates, the homeland of peace and tolerance", and in the celebration of Zayed Day for Humanitarian Work, with a group of scholars from inside and outside the country, to show The values of Sheikh Zayed - may God rest his soul - and its humanitarian role
Dr. Al-Kaabi confirmed that the authority, in coordination with the National Emergency, Crisis and Disaster Management Authority, has taken all its preparations to provide a safe and healthy environment for mosque pilgrims to enable them to perform their prayers in spirituality and reassurance. Adherence to it in the Tarawih prayer, as it was decided to limit the duration of the evening prayer and the Tarawih prayer 8 rak'ahs, not exceeding a period of (30) minutes, and not to wait between the evening prayer and the evening prayer, and to start the Tarawih prayer immediately after the evening prayer, and to adhere to physical distancing and all precautionary measures, This is in addition to not allowing Ramadan tables in mosque courtyards, closing mosques immediately after prayer and not allowing (sitting and i'tikaaf).
Regarding the enrichment of this month with everything that highlights its greatness and spirituality and enables everyone to invest its time in goodness and development of thought, Dr. Al Kaabi said that the Commission has doubled its efforts in creating many programs that will be presented through the media and smart platforms that serve faith, devotional and ethical issues, with a focus on strengthening Family and national values, revealing that in the month of Ramadan, the commission will have more than (380) episodes in (15) radio and television programs through the national satellite media stations.
Dr. Al-Kaabi emphasized that the authority was keen on continuing the work of Quranic centers remotely: by investing in smart systems in opening virtual classrooms, throughout the holy month of Ramadan for all segments of society.
Dr. Al Kaabi touched on some of the Authority’s performance indicators for 2020 and its achievements, noting that the General Authority for Islamic Affairs and Endowments, with the support of our rational leadership and within its strategic plan approved by the distinguished cabinet, has achieved advanced and pioneering results in the performance indicators for the year 2020. Consolidating the values of tolerance and acceptance of others 100%, the percentage of mosques that were sterilized 100%, the percentage of continuity of providing all services of the authority during the period of the Corona crisis 100%, the percentage of religious awareness in the community reached 97.90%, and the percentage of community happiness about the authority’s role in promoting family cohesion 91% The happiness rate of mosque-goers reached 90.9%, and the happiness rate for religious publications in foreign languages for non-Arabic speakers is 86%. Dr. Al Kaabi also addressed many topics related to the commission’s mission and its role in society.
At the end of the briefing, Dr. Al-Kaabi thanked the work teams in all sectors, departments and organizational units in the authority and its branches, who confirmed that they continue to work hard, diligence, determination and perseverance to maintain the march of excellence and creativity in this pioneering country.
He also thanked the media institutions and the media, whom he described as strategic partners in conveying the authority's message to society, asking God Almighty to preserve the leadership and people of the United Arab Emirates and to perpetuate the homeland of humanity and tolerance, its pride, generosity and its advancement.
