Pforzheim (dpa / lsw) - The Baden-Württemberg CDU has achieved good results in the coalition negotiations with the Greens from the point of view of state chief Thomas Strobl.

The talks started on Thursday with the topic of generational, solid and sustainable budget and financial policy, which was already at the top of the CDU agenda during the explorations, Strobl told the “Pforzheimer Zeitung” (Saturday).

"And what we have discussed is 100 percent DNA of the CDU."

The Greens also ran open doors on climate protection, said the CDU chief.

The topic was prominently featured on the first pages of the election manifesto.

"We don't have to make any major concessions," assured Strobl.

As the winner of the state elections in mid-March, the Greens decided to continue to govern with the clearly weakened CDU.

When asked whether he would remain Minister of the Interior in the second round of Green and Black, Strobl replied: "First the country, then the party, then the person."

Now it is about “how we can position Baden-Württemberg well by 2026 and thus decisively shape the 1920s”.

The tailoring of ministries or even their staffing will only be discussed at the very end.
