Berlin (dpa / bb) - Four cars burned in Berlin-Schöneberg and Staaken early Saturday morning.

At around 2.30 a.m., a security officer first discovered the flames on a parked car in Bessemerstrasse, the police said.

The car burned out almost completely.

Nobody was injured.

Half an hour later, a 23-year-old man called the emergency services to a burning car in a parking lot on Maulbeerallee in Staaken.

He saw the fire driving past.

The flames soon spread to two other cars nearby - a tree was also on fire.

The fire was extinguished and nobody was harmed either.

The police suspected arson as the cause in all cases.

In Berlin, parked vehicles are repeatedly set on fire by strangers, mostly at night.
