The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia announced the establishment and reduction of Tarawih prayers in the Two Holy Mosques, while mosques in some Arab countries return to receiving worshipers during the blessed month of Ramadan, especially during Tarawih prayers, after they closed their doors last year to prevent the spread of the Corona virus.

The General Presidency for the Affairs of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet's Mosque reported that King Salman bin Abdulaziz approved the establishment of Tarawih prayers in the Two Holy Mosques and reduced it to 5 tasleem (10 rak'ahs) instead of 10 prayers as was performed in past years.

And last Tuesday, the Saudi authorities announced the banning of I'tikaaf, Iftar and collective dawn in mosques during the month of Ramadan, as part of precautionary and preventive measures to prevent the spread of the Corona virus in the country, according to what the Ministry of Islamic Affairs reported on its Twitter account.

So far, 8 countries, namely Saudi Arabia, Palestine, Bahrain, the Emirates, Kuwait, Iraq, Egypt and Algeria have announced that they allow daily homework, Friday sermon and Tarawih prayers in mosques, according to Anadolu Agency monitoring.

The eight countries imposed precautionary measures regarding mosque prayers, including setting a maximum time limit for Taraweeh, continuing to close places for ablution, physical distancing, wearing masks, taking a prayer rug, banning religious lessons and mass breakfasts, and vaccinating against Corona.

On the other hand, 5 countries, namely, Morocco, Tunisia, Qatar, Oman and Jordan, announced that Tarawih prayers will not be held in the mosques during the month of fasting, which begins according to astronomical calculations on April 13 and ends on May 12, while most countries investigate its crescent on Sunday evening .
