A man was accused by a hotel of shoplifting.

The man is then said to have tried to run over a policeman.

The perpetrator left behind a driver's license, the image was used for analysis with face recognition.

The computer program then matched the image with an image of Nijeer Parks.

But it later turned out that Parks had not even been at the scene at the time.

- Studies have shown that this technology does a bad job when it comes to certain groups of people. Specifically African Americans, says Daniel Sexton, a lawyer for Nijeer Parks.
