It is in an interview in "Nyhetsmorgon" on TV4 that Lena Hallengren tells that she is being treated for breast cancer.

The Minister of Social Affairs recently underwent breast surgery and now chemotherapy is expected.

- I actually feel very well, but I realize that the chemotherapy treatment will affect the body, says Lena Hallengren to TV4.

When asked if it is difficult to be weak given that she is a minister, she answers:

- Honestly, it's probably a bit, but there will be days when I'm weaker.

But I do not intend to risk my job, says Lena Hallengren in TV4.

"Am also human"

She is not worried that her confidence will be affected by her being open with the disease.

- We are people, politics is a big part of me and my life but I am also human so it is better that I am honest with what challenges I have and what consequences it can have.

How the ministerial job will be affected is unclear at present, but Lena Hallengren says this about what happens if health deteriorates:

- Then I will of course think about whether I need to be on sick leave.

When asked if she is afraid, Lena Hallengren answers:

- No, actually not, I am very here and now and think that I do not take anything out in advance.

I try not to read so much.
