A number of Arab countries announced that Tuesday is the first day of the blessed month of Ramadan after it was not possible to see the crescent this evening, while other countries announced that they would re-examine the vision tomorrow, Monday, because the beginning of the month of Shaban was not fixed in the evening of Rajab 29.

The Sharia bodies and the role of Iftaa in Egypt, Kuwait and Lebanon, as well as the Sunni Endowment Office in Iraq, said that it was not possible to see the crescent this evening, and therefore, Monday is the completion of the month of Sha`ban, and Tuesday will be the first day of Ramadan.

As for Saudi Arabia, its media reported a statement to the Supreme Court stating that it had held a session on Sunday evening, "and no evidence has been received to prove the sighting of the crescent tonight."

The statement added that "for the reasons indicated by the court in its announcement, a session will be held, God Almighty willing, tomorrow evening, and it will issue a decision in this regard."

Why recheck vision?

In a previous announcement, the court called on all Muslims to investigate the sighting of the crescent of Ramadan on Sunday and Monday, and to inform the nearest court if it was detected, explaining that “no one witnessed the sighting of the crescent of the month of Sha`ban on the evening of Saturday Rajab 29, 1442 AH, despite his opinion, and it included the minutes of the hypocritical committees. Most of the observatory atmosphere was dusty that night. "

And she added, "Based on it and on the previous orders and instructions issued, following the guidance of the Messenger, may God bless him and grant him peace, the court wishes to all Muslims throughout the kingdom to investigate the sighting of the crescent of the blessed month of Ramadan on the evening of Sunday the 29th of Shaban according to the Umm al-Qura calendar." If it is not seen, then he should investigate the sighting of the crescent on Monday evening corresponding to the 30th of Sha`ban according to the Umm al-Qura calendar on the 29th of Sha`ban, according to the decision of the Supreme Court.

And in the State of Qatar, the Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs said that a committee to investigate the sighting of the crescent met today, “and since it has not been proven that the month of Shaban has entered the evening of the 29th of Rajab, no one has come today to testify, and therefore the committee decided to continue its work, and to re-examine the vision tomorrow.”

In Yemen, too, the Minister of Endowments and Guidance, Sheikh Muhammad Eida Shabiba, announced in a statement published on the ministry’s Facebook page that the investigation of the sighting of the crescent of Ramadan will take place tomorrow, Monday.

In Iraq, the Shiite authorities announced in separate statements that they would investigate Hilal Ramadan on Monday evening.
