Kirchentellinsfurt (dpa / lsw) - In the event of a fire, an apartment in Kirchentellinsfurt (Tübingen district) burned out completely.
The 64-year-old resident saved himself on Sunday morning by jumping from the balcony and suffered serious injuries, the police said.
He came to a clinic.
According to the investigations, the fire started in the kitchen of the ground floor apartment for initially unknown reasons.
A man and a dog had to be rescued by the fire department from an attic apartment.
He and two other residents of the three-story apartment building were also taken to hospital on suspicion of smoke inhalation.
In addition to the 64-year-old's apartment, the other eight residential units in the building are no longer usable for the time being, it said.
The damage caused should therefore amount to hundreds of thousands of euros.
The community provided a hall as an emergency shelter.
