  The command center held a press conference on the same day to announce that the new death was a Taiwanese male in his 60s with a history of chronic disease and a contact person who had sought medical attention in the cluster infection incident at Taoyuan Hospital.

  According to reports from Taiwanese media such as Central News Agency and United News Network, the man became ill on January 19 and was diagnosed on 24; his condition worsened after admission and was treated with a ventilator and ECMO (extracorporeal membrane oxygenation, commonly known as "artificial lung"); February 22 Isolation was lifted because the inspection conditions were in line with the regulations, but continued hospitalization for other diseases; the ventilator continued to be used after the ECMO was removed on March 17; symptoms such as shortness of breath, drop in blood pressure and severe arrhythmia appeared on April 8 , The next day after emergency treatment, he died of pneumonia and septic shock.

  According to another announcement, Taiwan entered the country from the United States with a new confirmed case of new coronary pneumonia that day.

The case continued to develop cough, nasal congestion, diarrhea, and abnormal sense of smell from April 4th to 8th. On April 9th, the health department arranged medical examinations due to the persistent symptoms, and the diagnosis was confirmed on the 11th.

At present, the health department has known the case of a total of 18 people who have been in close contact with the flight, of which 3 are passengers and have been isolated at home; the other 15 are flight crew members, all of whom have taken relevant protective measures and have left the country.

  So far, Taiwan has confirmed a total of 1057 cases of new coronary pneumonia, of which 11 died, 1022 were lifted from isolation, and 24 are still in hospital isolation.
