Munich (dpa) - The Bayern captains are alarmed.

In the fight against the impending knockout in the Champions League and in the smoldering conflict between coach and sports director, Manuel Neuer and Thomas Müller urgently urge more calm.

"The background noise is not nice," complained captain Neuer before the quarter-final second leg at Paris Saint-Germain.

"A little more peace around it would definitely be good for us."

For representative Müller, the only thing that counted was “getting ahead” on Tuesday, but everyone would do well to “put out the embers a bit”.

If the all-or-nothing game against Kylian Mbappé, Neymar & Co., in which the defending champion wants to turn a 2: 3 from the first leg, there is a risk of a bigger fire in the football record champion.

It feels like not a day goes by without anger at Bayern.

"Do you think I enjoy the whole thing?" Replied coach Hansi Flick, annoyed, when he was approached at Neuer's request for more calm.

The 56-year-old did not go into detail at the weekend after an emergency team's 1-1 draw against Union Berlin.

When asked about his future or sports director Hasan Salihamidzic, he passed on, as announced, with “next question”.

Salihamidzic gave no interviews at all.

The tense sports director stroked his beard worriedly when Kingsley Coman was treated after about half an hour and replaced at break.

The blow on the head of the fibula ended lightly according to the first assessment of Flick, who had to get along without nine stars on Saturday with world footballer Robert Lewandowski at the top.

Flick did not fear failures for the quarter-final second leg either with Jérôme Boateng (knee problems) and Jamal Musiala (calf cramps), who had given Bayern the well-deserved lead with almost dancing elegance (68th).

Flick also hopes that in addition to this trio, Leon Goretzka (muscular problems) and Lucas Hernández (bruise), who are missing against Berlin, will be there against PSG.

The chances at Hernández are greater despite the pain, said Flick.

In the case of Goretzka's muscular problems, they want to wait for the doctors' “green light” and then decide.

At the side of Leroy Sané, Goretza jogged on Sunday in sunny Munich on the training ground.

A formation like against Union, when Tiago Dantas (20) and the debutants Josip Stanisic (21) and Christopher Scott (18) were allowed to run, will probably never be in this form at the series champion again.

The fact that there was no victory for the youngsters was due to Berlin's joker Marcus Ingvartsen (86th).

"You really have to give everything to the end and put everything in," said Neuer.

A motto that must also apply to Tuesday in the Prinzenpark.

"Perhaps we really want to let the little miracle come about," said Flick.

Honorary President Uli Hoeneß and President Herbert Hainer shook their heads up in the stands, disappointed after the second home game they did not win, but the league leaders' lead over RB Leipzig, which had shrunk from seven to five points, did not bother them much.

After the cup out at the beginning of the year, Bayern would hit another knockout even in the premier class, the power struggle between Flick and Salihamidzic should continue to gain momentum.

And that only seven months after FC Bayern, who have meanwhile won six titles in one year, happily throned on the summit by beating PSG in the final.

Except from CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge, who insisted on calm again with his word of power to Flick and Salihamidzic, there has so far been no clear statement that Flick (contract until 2023) will still be Bayern coach in the new season.

The 2014 world champion assistant coach is at the center of the follow-up discussion about Joachim Löw's national coaching post.

«I think that Hansi Flick is the right coach for us.

You could see how successful we have been in the past.

We look forward to it continuing like this, ”said Neuer.

The topic in the team is “not as big as you can imagine,” said the 35-year-old national goalkeeper.

"Nevertheless, all things that are beating down on us from the outside are of course not necessary."

There are exciting days and weeks ahead of FC Bayern.

«The trainer showed a clear handwriting here.

You can see that the coach can be very tough, but also very warm.

It suits us wonderfully.

If I were to take responsibility, I would do anything to keep him, ”said Hoeneß.

But he didn't mean Flick - but Andrea Trinchieri, the coach of his basketball players.
