Baunatal (dpa / lhe) - The north Hessian city of Baunatal wants to try easing the pandemic as a corona model municipality from next week.
On Monday (April 12), shops and outdoor restaurants should be allowed to open in a specified inner city area, as the municipality announced on Friday.
The cinema could open on April 15th.
The prerequisite for using the offer, which initially only applies to Baunatal residents, is a daily, negative corona test.
“Participation in the model project is also a signal of hope for everyone,” said Mayor Silke Engler (SPD).
Compliance with the applicable protective measures has the highest priority.
"We are aware of our responsibility and take it very seriously."
Among other things, there should be regular controls.
“Participation in the Luca app is also mandatory for providers and customers,” it said.
According to the city, fully vaccinated people can also take part in the project 15 days after receiving the second dose.
The city is one of the model communities in Hesse that can try out temporary easing of the pandemic.
In addition to Baunatal, the state also selected Alsfeld (Vogelsbergkreis) and Dieburg in southern Hesse.

The project started on Thursday in Alsfeld.
Initially, retail stores in the city center are allowed to open here.
In Vogelsberg-Stadt you also need a current, negative test for the corona virus to shop.
Dieburg, on the other hand, does not want to relax for the time being.
Reason: The health department can currently not guarantee complete contact tracking.
