Mainz (dpa / lrs) - After a slight decrease in new corona infections over Easter, the incidence in Rhineland-Palatinate is again above the threshold of 100. For the first time since mid-January, the health authorities reported more than 1000 new corona infections in one day.

With 1,018 new cases within one day, the state investigation office determined on Friday an incidence of 101.4 infections per 100,000 people in the past seven days.

The number of patients who died with or from the virus rose by 10 to 3387 (as of 2:10 p.m.).

12,715 people in Rhineland-Palatinate are currently infected with the corona virus, more than since January 29th.

The highest incidence was on Friday in the city of Worms with 183.1.

This is followed by the Palatinate cities of Ludwigshafen (176.5) and Speyer (158.2) as well as the district of Germersheim (145.7).

15 of the 36 counties and cities are over an incidence of 100.

The incidence is lowest in Trier at 55.6.

In the state capital Mainz it was 131.8 on Thursday.

There has been a night exit restriction since Maundy Thursday.

The pandemic began in Rhineland-Palatinate at the end of February 2020 with a positive test in Koblenz.

Since then, 122,829 people in the state have been proven to have been infected with Sars-CoV-2.
