A member of the Transitional Sovereignty Council in Sudan, Malik Agar, said, "The Emirates that are located outside the seas want to distribute and divide Sudan's land equally with Ethiopia."

During a seminar in the Sudanese capital, Khartoum, Aqar criticized the Emirati initiative to resolve the issue of the border dispute between Sudan and Ethiopia.

"Sudan Tribune" newspaper quoted Aqar as saying that the UAE's attempt to divide the "Al-Fashaqa" area between Sudan and Ethiopia is rejected, stressing that "Al-Fashaqa" is an indivisible Sudanese land.

It is noteworthy that the Sudanese government has not revealed - until now - the content of the Emirati initiative on the border crisis between Sudan and Ethiopia.

Ethiopian groups seize the lands of Sudanese farmers in "Al-Fashaqa" after they were expelled from it by force of arms. Khartoum accuses the Ethiopian army of supporting these "gangs", but Addis Ababa denies this.

After an absence of about 25 years, on March 30th, the Sudanese army redeployed in the aforementioned region.
