Oberaurach (dpa) - Because their thank you song to Germany's farmers has been clicked on more than a million times on the Internet, the Franconian band Dorfrocker is driving a tractor to Mallorca.

"The response is absolutely amazing," said Markus Thomann on Friday in Oberaurach.

He and his brothers Philipp and Tobias recorded the song “Der King” together with the comedian Thomas Willibald (“Addnfahrer”).

They want to thank the farmers in Germany for their work.

Now it's time to keep the promise the band made to their fans: Because the video has become such a great success on the Internet, the brothers and Thomas Willibald want to go to Mallorca.

In the coming week they will start planning the tractor trip.

Whether they are driving a vintage tractor without a roof, as can be seen in the video for “Der King”, or a modern tractor with a lot of technology and air conditioning is still open.

"We'll see what is suitable," said Markus Thomann.

In addition, the band already has requests for performances - for example from direct marketers or on farms.

"As soon as meetings of 20 or 30 people are possible again, we want to do that."

The music video first shows scenes on a farm in front of a foothills of the Alps, then the performers drive a vintage tractor and trailer across the meadow and sing: "I am the king in the bulldog seat".

A year ago, the band, which was also present at the “Carnival in Franconia”, landed an Internet hit with the song “Silent Heroes” for helpers in the Corona crisis.

The village rockers said they were nominated for the "Echo" music prize, and albums made it into the top 10 of the German album charts.
