The musical columnist Fabien Lecoeuvre was "temporarily" removed from the antenna of Europe 1, because of his remarks against the singer Hoshi, whose physique he had criticized, the Lagardère group station confirmed to AFP on Friday.

Wendy Bouchard, host of "Europe Soir Weekend", the program in which he is a columnist, had indicated on Twitter that he would not be on the air this weekend, because of his remarks considered shocking towards Hoshi and other artists.

The columnist, press secretary and author of books on the song, attacked the physique of Hoshi and other singers, in an interview broadcast recently on the Arts-Mada webradio.

Calling her "scary", he suggested, in order to sell more albums, that she give her songs to "sublime girls".

The singer had denounced these remarks on social networks, pushing Fabien Lecoeuvre to apologize to him.

He assured to have simply wanted to point out the lesser importance granted, according to him, to the physical appearance of the artists by the record companies, compared to the past.

In a statement to AFP on Friday evening, the columnist dismissed qualified his remarks "inadmissible and unworthy of the love that (he) has for French song".

He asked "forgiveness from Hoshi and all the artists and their entourage", regretting "very deeply these unfortunate words that (he) did not mean".
