The companion of a missing woman, found under a concrete slab, at her marital home in Bédarieux (Hérault), was indicted and imprisoned for "aggravated murder" because committed on a spouse, said the prosecutor of Béziers.

The body was identified as being that of Aurélie Vaquier, thanks to "several tattoos including one which bore the name of a former cat", underlined Raphaël Balland, specifying that genetic analyzes still had to be carried out.

He denies the facts

In the couple's "vast accommodation", located on the ground floor of a small building and including a "work area", the investigators who came to carry out a new search were "intrigued" on Wednesday by a "small platform in stone and wood ”covered with cardboard boxes and objects, continued the prosecutor.

Below this platform, a concrete sarcophagus was pierced, provoking a strong reaction from the search dogs.

Technicians then proceeded to extract the corpse of a woman.

Aged 39, in the process of divorce and father of two children, Aurélie's companion, who lived in the place, declared throughout his custody "that it is not for nothing" affirming that the 38-year-old woman was "killed by another person," the prosecutor said.

Coming from Ain in the summer of 2020, he then met Aurélie Vaquier with whom he had moved to the small town of Bédarieux, last November.
